Every now and then, we update our templates and in doing so, we release a new version. We would always recommend using the latest version of your desired template to ensure that the pop-up is as compliant and efficient as possible.
This guide will take you step-by-step through how to update to the latest version. No matter which template you choose, the steps to update it are exactly the same.
Choosing the perfect template for your website is important, you can preview all of them here before you get started.
Checking your template version
Firstly, you'll need to check which version you are currently running, in order to tell whether or not you need to update. These are the most up-to-date and current versions of our templates.
In order to figure out which version you are currently on, you can navigate to the platform, to the Pop-Up tab and then to the Advanced Settings. It is listed here at the top of the HTML code and should look something like this:
<!--
Template name: Cookie Information Test
Version 1.1.0
-->
If the version you are using is lower than the ones specified above, you may wish to update. Read below how you can quickly and easily do so.
Updating your template version
Before you start: Please be aware that when updating your template, it will revert back to default. This means that any HTML, CSS or Javascript settings that you have changed in our Advanced Settings section will be removed. We recommend that you copy these first, update the template and then paste them into the new version.
If you haven't already, go ahead and log in to the platform. The first page should look like this.
Once you have entered your details and logged in, you'll be taken to a page that displays all of your consent solutions. Click on the one that you'd like to change.
From there, click on the "Pop-Up" tab on the navigation bar at the top. Click on "Change Template"
This will open a smaller menu - Click on the grey box to open the drop-down menu. Select the Default version of the template that use currently. Make sure to click "Update".
Afterwards, click "Save and Publish" in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Your pop-up template should now be updated to the newest version. This could take up to 10 minutes to display on your domain.
